9.9.4. Multi-speed motors series A2, AO2Engines of the A2 and AO2 series were intended to drive mechanisms with stepwise speed control. They were developed on the basis of the IM series AOL2 1 - 3 dimensions and AO2 3 - 9 dimensions in the power range from 0.43 to 45 kW. The degree of protection of blood pressure is IP44 according to GOST 17494-72. Nominal operating mode - continuous S1 according to GOST 183-74. Technical data of IM series AO2 for rated
The normal operating mode depending on the rotation speed is shown in table. 9.62. The ratio of the minimum torque during start-up to the nominal torque when switched on at the highest speed is 1, for other speeds it is 0.8.
The main overall, installation and connection dimensions are similar to the corresponding dimensions of the basic IM.
The engines were produced in accordance with the requirements of TU 16-510.560-75.

* Speed control at constant torque. ** The same at constant power.
Asynchronous motors for general industrial use, types A2 and AO2, are designed for continuous operation from a three-phase network alternating current.
Rated characteristics (power, current, voltage, number of revolutions, coefficient useful action) refer to nominal values of environmental climatic factors and minimum temperature values environment: -40°C during operation and -45°C during storage.
Electric motors of all sizes are manufactured with six output ends. Winding connection diagram - "triangle", "star" and triangle/star at the customer's request.
The engines have designs similar to the currently produced AIR series in terms of the degree of protection from environmental influences:
- closed version (IP44) (IP54) made of cast iron (AO2) - from 3 to 9 dimensions;
- closed version (IP44) (IP54) made of aluminum alloys (AOL2) - from 1 to 3 dimensions.
The structure of the electric motor designation consists of marking the design according to the degree of protection (AO2, AOL2), designation of the type of electric motor (the first digit indicates the serial number overall size, the second - - marking the length of the core), the number of poles, climatic version and placement category.
Example symbol:
AO2-62-4U3 - closed blown electric motor with frame and shields made of cast iron, size 6, core length 2, four-pole (1500 rpm), climatic version U, placement category 3.
