Scandinavian style has become one of the most favorite styles in Russia in recent years. This is largely due to the fact that we, like the Scandinavians, know what long winters, lack of light, small spaces and the need to organize competent storage systems mean. Scandinavian style is able to solve all these problems and is able to do it with style.

Kvartblog has visited people many times who furnished their apartments according to Swedish aesthetics, and today we decided to see how spaces differ from each other with the same style. In we looked at houses of families with children, and this time we will go to couples who still live together. All our heroes are united by the fact that they independently purchased their two-room apartments (however, one heroine turned one-room space kopeck piece) and furnished them without the participation of a designer. This once again proves that the Scandinavian style is subject to many: even if you do not have a specialized design education, if you properly study the rules of style, you can create comfort “Swedish style” in your home.

What apartments will we consider:

  1. for economist Karina and her husband Yuri.
  2. for economist Yana and engineer Anatoly.
  3. for photographer Elena and presenter Alexey.

Hallway

There is an entrance hall in almost every home - it is what creates the first impression when entering the house. All our heroes thought through this space and made it interesting and functional.

1. Karina and Yuri’s apartment has one very unexpected detail - a bright front door. It is she who sets the mood for the gray and white interior.

The blue front door was my dream. We made a bright door from the inside so as not to “traumatize” the neighbors. And invariably bright color decorates our hallway and makes us happy when Yura and I are getting ready for work or, conversely, returning home.

2. The hallway in Yana and Anatoly’s apartment is black and white with geometric tiles on the floor. For glass doors hides a fairly spacious dressing room, where all the things of our heroes fit and household appliances. The Home Sweet Home poster at the door is not only decorative: it also hides the electrical panel.

3. Lena and Alexey's hallway is a narrow corridor, on one side of which there are wardrobes and hangers, and on the other - the door to the bathroom. The color of the walls is not the most traditional for the Scandinavian style - coffee.

Kitchen

All kitchens are united by functionality and white, so characteristic of the Scandinavian style.

1. The area of Karina's kitchen is 9 m2. It was for this room that the heroine thought about hiring a designer, but in the end she did it herself. Kitchen set from " Stylish kitchens» accommodates a built-in hood, wine cabinet and even ironing board. The turquoise table for the kitchen was made by craftswoman Daria Geiler: as in the case of the colored front door, one bright accent sets the mood for the entire room.

2. The area of Yana and Anatoly’s kitchen is only 5.5 m2. Despite the fact that the room is devoid of natural light, it does not look dark or gloomy. Artificial lighting does its job perfectly. All equipment is built-in. In the cabinet opposite the hood there is a refrigerator and an oven, and on the bottom left - washing machine. Yana says that thanks to the fact that the cabinets are made right up to the ceiling, she still has a reserve of free space that can be filled if necessary.

3. In Lena and Alexey’s apartment, the kitchen is combined with a living room, dining room and “office” area. By removing the extra walls, the guys got a single large space that solves many problems. The kitchen set was ordered from IKEA.

Bedroom

One of the rooms in a two-room apartment is traditionally designated as a bedroom. This is what all our heroes did.

1. The area of Karina and Yuri's bedroom is about 15 m2. Our heroes thought of a lot of storage space in this room: a wardrobe, bookshelves and space under the bed. Karina’s long-standing desire is also realized here - wide window sill, on which you can sit.

As you may have noticed, in the hallway and kitchen the main accents are turquoise, and here they are sunny yellow. Karina repainted the bedside tables herself.

2. Initially, the apartment was a rectangle without walls with two large windows. Yana was faced with the question of how to harmoniously organize the space and delimit zones. I really wanted to allocate a separate bedroom with a window of 40 m2, but it would block all the natural light in the kitchen. However, it was decided to donate sunlight in favor of a place where you can retire. This is how a separate bedroom of 8 m2 appeared. It fit a 1.6 m wide bed, a spacious chest of drawers and a small bedside table.

3. Lena and Alexey's bedroom is decorated in calm spring colors. Our heroes saw a headboard made from louvered doors on Pinterest and made it themselves, painting it the same color as the bedside tables. There is under the bed drawers, and near the door there is a wardrobe.

Living room

1. For Karina and Yuri, the kitchen serves as a living room. They left the second room for the future nursery and have not yet filled it with furniture.

2. Yana and Anatoly have not yet fully furnished the living room. There are missing details and a picture on the wall. However, near the window overlooking Krasnogorsk there is a dining room, which can easily be classified as a living room.

3. As we have already told you, in Lena and Alexey’s cozy Scandinavian two-room apartment, one room combines several zones at once. Lena and Lesha love to receive guests, so they bought round table, which unfolds.

Bathroom

1. The most interesting visual solution in Karina and Yuri’s bathroom - accent wall with patterned tiles. And the practical one is a device for drying clothes above the bathtub.

2. Yana's bathroom differs from the general style of the apartment. It is not made in a Scandinavian style, but in a modern one, with elements of pop art style. It all started with a bright yellow alarm clock, which the owner of the apartment fell in love with. The alarm clock added bright details in the form of a rug, towels, a “We can do it” poster (friends joke that this is the perfect slogan to place in the toilet) and a red curtain. It is worth noting that the toilet bowl and brush are suspended. This solution allows you to clean up faster.

3. The bathroom in Lena and Alexey’s apartment is separate. Our heroes believe that they made a mistake with the choice of tiles: they are too easily soiled and difficult to maintain. Initially, they made white seams, which very soon became dirty, and Alexey remade them himself.

The restroom has niches for storing household chemicals and equipment.

Having walked through three Scandinavian apartments of young couples, we can conclude that despite the fact that they are decorated in the same style, all the rooms look very different: Swedish aesthetics makes it possible to experiment, add bright colors and create coziness in any area.

Scandinavian style in the interior of an apartment - photos of 15 real projects updated: April 19, 2018 by: Margarita Glushko

High ceilings, columns and large windows - the designers of the Pobeda Design bureau emphasized the layout features of this Moscow two-room apartment with light colors and loft elements that organically combine with the overall Scandinavian mood of the interior

Today we are talking about an apartment project with unusual layout: the apartments are located on the territory of a former factory, the design features of which were reflected in the architecture of the modern residential complex. The owners are a young couple who devote a lot of time to work and prefer family vacation, - we contacted the Pobeda Design bureau with a request to decorate an apartment in a Scandinavian style using natural materials and a light palette.

Architectural bureau "Victory of Design"

Since its founding in 2007, the Victory of Design studio has implemented more than three hundred projects. The studio employees prefer minimalism, loft and Scandinavian style, and do not favor eclecticism and fusion. They claim that they are the best in planning. Indeed, the experience is impressive: in addition to creating private interiors, the bureau collaborates with many leading Russian developers, developing planning solutions for houses under construction. Designers have a practical approach; they believe that a comfortable bathroom is much more important than a shocking design.

Layout

The designers had to work with a non-standard original layout: the apartment had columns, horizontal beams, 3.4 m high ceilings and huge windows. It was decided not to hide all these elements, but, on the contrary, to emphasize them: for this purpose, the concrete columns and beams were supported with smooth plaster, and the gray-white palette was diluted with graphic dark accents.

Functionally, the apartment was divided into two zones: public, consisting of a living room combined with a kitchen and dining room, and private, including a bedroom and bathroom.

It was decided to allocate the main area of the apartment for common space, since this is where the owners spend most of their time. We allocated the minimum area for the bedroom, since it is not the main room in the apartment.

Corridor

The hallway space is 9.2 square meters. m is mostly used for storage: there are spacious cabinets along two walls, and near the entrance there is a large mirror in a dark frame and an ottoman. The cabinet fronts are divided into two parts and have different textures: one repeats the design interior doors and is made in white with panels, the second serves as support for the kitchen facade - a smooth one was chosen for it wood trim without handles.

The interior of the hallway is dominated by light shades: the walls are white, and the floor is paved with gray tiles, stylized as stone. The main emphasis is on lamps original form: one is made of linen, the other is ceramic.

Public area

In the apartment, the kitchen occupies a central position. It is made in a minimalist finish: hidden handles, smooth facades, chrome parts. Concrete ceiling with beam ceilings - main feature this zone. It is complemented by loft elements: exposed wiring and a deliberately open exhaust pipe that supports general style. Light bulbs on long cords provide illumination for the public area.

Stepan Bugaev, “Victory of Design”:

In the kitchen we used an interesting technique - combining wood and plastic. This combination allows the facades to look modern, and the kitchen to be a harmonious continuation of the living room area.

The central element of the dining group was the lamp. It is represented by flat rounded shapes different colors and heights, which create a volumetric composition and at the same time act as a zoning tool. The dining area itself is a combination different materials. The textiles of the chairs echo the decoration of the table legs, and the lamp combines all the colors used in the dining group.

The living room area occupies a small space of 12 square meters. m and is represented by a sofa, designed in dark gray tones, and a system of shelves for a TV. The sofa is located so as to visually separate the living room from the kitchen. The composition of the shelves in the TV area brings variety to the interior: chaotically located on the wall, they combine open and closed elements.

Bedroom

The bedroom is completely done in white, and the accents are moldings on the wall, creating a beautiful relief, and black elements of the overhead lamp. The owners spend the least amount of time here, so the bedroom has only one function - it serves as a place to sleep and relax.

Bathroom

The bathroom is also decorated in white, but it is not uniform: if on the walls it is just white background, then the texture of marble is added to the floor. The central objects in the interior of the bathroom are the cabinet under the sink, the decoration of which combines wood of different colors, and a mirror that echoes it.

Stepan Bugaev, “Victory of Design”:

The project turned out to be very bright and pleasant, with precisely placed accents. We managed to create a spacious and bright space in the Scandinavian style, embodying simplicity and comfort. All customer requirements were taken into account, and the apartment owners themselves were satisfied with the result.

In this interior the following were used:

Corridor:

  • cabinet furniture - Stradivari (Italy);
  • pouf - Gan-Rugs (Spain);
  • doors - Union (Russia).

Public area:

  • kitchen set - Scavolini (Italy);
  • lunch group - Calligaris (Italy), Muuto (Denmark);
  • light - Vibia (Spain), Muuto (Denmark);
  • shelving systems - Lago (Italy);
  • tiles - Equip Ceramicas (Spain);

Bedroom:

  • moldings - Orac Décor (Belgium);
  • bed - Gervasoni (Italy);
  • cabinets - Zanotta (Italy);
  • light - Karman (Italy), Delta Light (Belgium);
  • decorative plaster - Baldini (Italy);
  • flooring- Finex (Russia).

Bathroom:

  • furniture - Biankini & Capponi (Italy);
  • plumbing - Villeroy & Bosh (Germany);
  • heated towel rail - Zehnder (Germany);
  • tiles - Atlas Concorde (Italy).

Turn a shabby apartment into a model modern interior and a paradise for a freelancer - this is what it is capable of, which is the main weapon in the hands of a skilled designer. Some original solutions will help you study existing decorative techniques in more detail and implement some of them in your small homes.

General characteristics of the interior and its features

The main goal followed by the designers was to combine such functions as comfortable living and no less in the existing small space comfortable conditions for a high-quality work process, taking into account the possibility of expanding the practical advantages of housing in the event of adding family members.

The visual perception of the kitchen was increased by raising the level of the kitchen cabinets, and the living room was combined with the bedroom and dining room, where the corresponding area was designated designer dining table. Thanks to these actions, it became possible to free up one of the rooms for a study, and leave the other completely empty for conversion, if necessary, into a nursery. Shifting one of the doors made it possible to install a sofa, which, despite its modest size, is an excellent sleeping place for two guests.

But small bathroom interior caused real difficulties, which became possible to solve only after the toilet installed here was rotated 90 degrees along the axis relative to its previous location. This simple technique allowed us to save such a significant part of the space that even a small washing machine along with the laundry basket.

Color

The combination of colors in the interior of this style is aimed at expanding the available space, which is only possible if used light colors. White color in the interior, with the help of which the walls were decorated, not only contributed to the presence of this factor, but also made it possible to solve the problem of poor lighting due to the high reflective effect.

The floor and flooring are decorated in light wood tones, which made it possible to give the room a clear geometry that had a positive effect on the visual boundaries of the usable area. In addition, the apartment has become much lighter and more comfortable than before these changes. It is worth noting that these actions, in addition to worthy external characteristics, which appeared after their implementation, allowed us to save a sufficient amount of money.

Lighting

The abundance of light is another technique that allowed us to achieve such a spectacular result. Open windows saturated the rooms with sunlight, which had a positive effect on the overall mood, and various sources of artificial lighting installed in each room, depending on its functional purpose, increased the degree of their practical compliance. Additional lamps that were installed above dining table and a recreation area made these places much cozier and more comfortable. It is worth noting that original lamp in the form of a plate, it was actually found among relatives, after which it was restored by the owners of the apartment themselves. This suggests that any decisions may have an alternative basis involving small monetary contributions.

Furniture

Simple small furnituregreat option for housing of similar dimensions. Stylish chairs upholstered in a material whose texture resembles curtains used in interior design. This technique allowed the design to become more harmonious and original. Bright pillows decorated the sofa and brought new colors and a welcoming mood to the look.

The cabinets, which are a product of the Soviet furniture industry, have been restored and fit well into the existing interior. Most pieces of furniture were ordered from ordinary carpentry. A fireplace, placed instead of the usual TV, became a source of special home comfort.

Storage system

Traditional wardrobes and chests of drawers are complemented with this unusual solution, like a library, comfortably located in the pantry room of the apartment. This simple technique made it possible to save a significant part of the usable space, saving the owners from the need to install a bulky cabinet or corresponding shelving, giving the interior ideal functionality.

Tips for creating a Scandinavian interior in your apartment

1. Feel free to use white. Its combination with warm natural tones completely eliminates the feeling of sterility.

2. It is best to install decorative and interior items in plain sight, using open shelves rather than sections of your cabinets.

3. The kitchen requires a special approach to the process of creating the interior. Not only the proper arrangement of kitchen furniture elements, but also the relocation of speakers and counters is a solution that can have a beneficial effect on creating the ideal image of the apartment.
