I am used to the fact that there is always light, without any restrictions or exceptions. But, as usual, exceptions appear and often become the rules. The light in the passage to the pantry of the house is designed in such a way that you first have to walk a few meters in pitch darkness, try to find the switch, repeat this several times, finally turn on the light and only then make sure that the switch is not at all where you originally found it tried to find.

The stated operating range of the light sensor is 5 meters. According to my measurements, it may be a little smaller if you approach the sensor from the side. And vice versa, when approaching directly to the sensor, the range is about 7 - 10 meters. It was not possible to accurately determine the range - it greatly depends on the intensity of traffic. If you quickly walk along the corridor, then the range is maximum.
Duration of light burning when automatically turned on is 15 seconds. According to personal feelings, this is quite enough to pass a small section of a dark (already light) corridor.
A few words about brightness. When I turned on Svetum at home, during the day, on the table, it seemed to me that the brightness was too low. But for a dark place it turns out to be more than enough. I installed Svetum on the wall, at a height of about 15 centimeters from the floor. (Just slightly above the water mark from the last flood in the basement). When turned on, Svetum brightly illuminates the corridor at a distance of 3 meters, which is quite enough to reach the main switch.
When I was explaining to a friend what kind of “thing” was hanging on the wall, he asked, “and if they really turn off the light, it doesn’t illuminate much.” We checked.
Svetum is quite capable of finding the way and illuminating the dark corridor. But for complete emergency lighting, one lamp will not be enough.
A few words about other applications.
I think that such lighting would be ideal for lower shelves in the kitchen, closets with clothes, etc. I tried to place Svetum in the kitchen under the cabinet with the sink. This is a place where sometimes lighting really doesn’t hurt. But I decided for myself that lighting the pantry is still more important.
