1. Apparently, you are reading one of the editions of the Holy Scriptures in Russian. This translation is from Slavic language. The Slavic translation is a translation from the Greek. And the Russian translation was made while preserving the meaning of both the Greek translation and the Slavic one, because a literal translation would be less clear because the grammar of these languages ​​has changed. Thus, words were added to the Russian translation that are not in the literal text, but which are necessary to understand the meaning.

The fact is that the Bible is permeated with the idea that the children of God should be united into one whole, and this whole should be separated from the rest of the world. This idea is most vividly captured in the history of carnal Israel. God produced from Abraham a numerous people, who, despite all the problems, have always remained and still remain separate people. The carnal Israel of Old Testament times was the church of the Living God on earth. Jesus Himself provided something that would never allow His disciples to leave their meetings for long, if they were, of course, true disciples. What is this? This is the supper that Christ Himself established and commanded the disciples to celebrate together in remembrance of His death (;).

If your friend honestly reflects on all the verses given here, then he will have no choice but to recognize that believers are one people, whose members must serve each other as members of the body. But how can you do this if you don’t at least attend a meeting of the church body?
